Is Ten Hag being thrown under the bus?

Ten Hag times has been a bit of a rollercoaster at Manchester United. Its not just about the game on the pitch but also whats happening behind the scenes. From Ronaldo, Greenwood, Maguire captaincy, Sancho and recenly Antony situation, all this within 18 months of Ten Hag Man Utd career. Theres this recurring issue where players arent happy with how things are being run and some are even downing tools, which means they’re not putting in their effort. It’s a bit like when the lads were having trouble with Van Gaal, Mourinho and Solskjaer in the past. Seems like history’s repeating itself, and Ten Hag might just be the latest one to face the heat.

Louis Van Gaal’s Era: Struggles with a Strict Regime

When Louis Van Gaal was the manager, the players thought he was crazy too mant strict rules for them. There were actual confrontations over things like training and what they could eat! Can you imagine? The players weren’t too happy with all the tough tactics he was throwing at them either. Man Utd players felt like they were being pushed too hard. It’s like Van Gaal was running a military camp or something, not a football team!

The players were saying Van Gaal’s training methods were just too much to handle. They were feeling restricted like they couldn’t play their natural game anymore. Some of them even said they felt like their creativity was being stifled! The lads just wanted to play football, but it seemed like Van Gaal had them on some kind of crazy fitness regime instead. ‘He told us when we could eat’ – Schneiderlin blames ‘strict’ Van Gaal for failed Man Utd spell, Louis van Gaal the man has won everything in club football from Eredivisie, La Liga, Bundesliga and Champions League with Ajax 94/95. Anthony Martial, England Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford are the only survivors from the Louis van Gaal era.

Jose Mourinho’s Reign: Brutal Training & Unhappy Stars

Ten Hag

Jose Mourinho always had this reputation for being a bit of a taskmaster. Jose training sessions were something else! All the intense drills and fitness routines, Utd players were feeling drained and demotivated like they were losing the love for the game. The training atmosphere wasn’t exactly buzzing with positivity. Some of the players said they wasnt happy with the whole vibe under Mourinho.

It wasn’t just the games that were getting them down, but the training too. The lads were feeling the pressure, you see. They were saying Mourinho’s methods were just too much for them. It was like the fun was being sucked out of football for them. The players weren’t exactly singing Mourinho’s praises, that’s for sure.

This the same manager who got Inter Milan to win the Champions League back in 2009/10? I guess its different mentally players like Dejan Stanković, Javier Zanetti, Lúcio, Esteban Cambiasso and others would die trying, but with Mourinho’s Man Utd they were tiktok dancers and beauty queens if you say a bad word to them they would crumble. Jose Mourinho has won Champions League twice, Premier League, Serie A and La Liga but its his fault his old school tactics old school training regime.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: From Player Idol to Managerial Criticisms

The players were loving the change at first, unbeaten in their 28 Premier League away games. feeling like they had more freedom and flexibility. The players were saying that the atmosphere was maybe a little too laid-back you can say complacency kicked in. No urgency no motivation no energy too comfortable.

They were saying that Solskjaer’s approach didn’t have that edge, that ‘fear factor’ you need in a top-tier football team. It was like they were missing that extra push, that drive to really give it their all. Some of them even said that the team dynamics were affected because of it no fire in their bellies.

From old school training regime and strict style of dress code, waiting for manager before eating to now completely free soft, easy going manager and the players dont like it, Yes he managed to relegate Cardiff but even Pep or Klopp wouldnt be able to keep them up, Ole managed Molde and got them to Tippeligaen League first time in their history but to do it back to back, its still impressive.

Ralf Rangnick’s Approach: Struggles and Unrest Among Players

Ralf Rangnick, Ten Hag

The players were not exactly thrilled with Ralf Rangnick training methods. They were saying it was like going back to the old days, with all the gruelling drills, intense workouts using data too much. Rangnick had this impressive track record from his previous stints, winning titles and getting teams to play at their best. But despite all that success, the players weren’t exactly singing his praises. They were feeling the pressure, you see, even with his experience and achievements. It’s like they were struggling to cope with his tough approach, even though it had worked wonders elsewhere. The players’ discontent was quite evident, and it was like they were finding it hard to adjust to Rangnick’s style. Ralf Rangnick is currently in charge of Austria with a 53% win rate in 17 games, he is good at spotting young talents

Is all this happening again over and over, the players throwing Ten Hag under the bus? new manager comes in first few months happy and dancing, when the real work kicks in, the players dont like it and throw their toys out the pram and cry, Ralf Rangnick mentioned that Man Utd needed open heart surgery on the club, but that seemed to disappear when they it was going sweet for Ten Hag. Now that it appears to be sour its all Ten Hag’s fault, Ralf said ‘There was no control. It was a result decided by individuals’ seems familiar right, with pundits and media saying ‘whats Ten Hag’s style?’ but we seen it before when Ten Hag was at Ajax no? Why cant he replicate that him now?
“can’t play the same way” this says alot about the players rather then the manager.
